What is the Lose Fat – Get Fit Challenge?

This Challenge is different from most other challenges as it focuses on improving your overall health and fitness level. As your health and fitness levels improve and you establish healthy lifestyle habits and routines, healthy weight loss will follow.

Excess body fat occurs as a result of a number of contributing factors, including inactivity, an improperly balanced diet, over indulgence, poor sleeping habits, nutritional imbalances, medical conditions and/or prescription or over-the-counter medications, not to mention the stress encountered from work, family and everyday life. The key to reducing body fat and keeping the fat off is to establish realistic lifestyle habits that address all of the above key factors. During the course of the Challenge, you will be:

Who Should Participate in the Challenge?

Anyone who would like to lose weight, whether it is 5 pounds or 75 pounds and/or who is interested in learning how to lead a more balanced lifestyle so they can have more energy, be healthier and happier and keep excess weight off for good.

How it Works:

  1. Book an introductory personal training session to learn proper kettlebell form and technique and have your weight and measurements taken.
  2. Keep a food journal for the duration of the Challenge to help keep you focused and on track.
  3. Weigh in once per week to ensure fat weight is being lost and muscle weight is being maintained. Measurements will be taken once per month.
  4. Complete a fitness test in class during Week 1 and Week 12 of the Challenge.
  5. The Nutrition Focus of the Week will be e-mailed to all participants at the beginning of each week. Topics will include: goal setting; attitude; hydration; protein, carbohydrates and fats – proper portion sizes, best food sources and why we need them; sugar, sodium and other food additives; digestion – signs of a sluggish digestive system and how it impacts our health and weight; supplementation.
  6. You are welcome to attend our weekly yoga class at no additional charge (Saturdays at 8:15 a.m.)
  7. You are welcome to attend monthly nutrition seminars at no additional charge (Tentative dates are Sunday, September 19th, October 17th & November 21st at 10:00 a.m.)
  8. Upon successful completion of the Challenge, you will receive a Kettlebell Club 750 ml stainless steel water bottle (a sweat proof design made from BPA-free materials that keep liquids cold for up to 8 hours).
